Woody regulars take on the McGuinness Guinness Challenge to raise funds for JDF

Sat, 24 Oct 2020

On Saturday 17th October, 16 Woody regulars embarked on one of the GREATEST charity fundraisers of all time, ‘the McGuinness Guinness’ challenge. They aimed to complete a lap of the TT course in a karaoke minibus, have a 1/2 pint of Guinness at 8 pubs, and get back to the Grandstand in less than 1 hr 45 minutes, which is John McGuiness’ best time for 6 laps of the TT course.
Unfortunately after 7 pubs were visited, the Mountain Road was closed due a traffic accident. Not to be defeated, the team headed down the coast road for a “quick one” in Laxey and are now resolved to tackle the challenge another day.

A fantastic amount of £1,005.10 was raised - Big Thank You to everyone who supported and donated.

The cheque presentation was made outside the Woodbourne Pub which celebrated its 125th Birthday on Thursday 22nd October.
